POWER EVANGELISM (Report from our 10th NW  Great Awakening Marathon in Astoria): He is about 60 years old and  sitting in a Mini-Mart parking lot on his Harley, full motorcycle-riding black leathers.  So what’s with the tears welling up in his eyes? Must  be his encounter with Jesus as that 10 year old girl reads the gospel  soul winning script to him (He prays to receive salvation).

“THE VIDEO LINK WAS AWESOME” as we shared Carl Madison’s Power Evangelism Teaching and Pastor Bobby Haaby’s and Pastor Jeff McCracken’s prayer through the skype link as the day started.  Later watching the testimonies of the highlights of God’s work back and forth between the two cities was incredibly delightful!   HE IS VERY ARGUMENTATIVE. He fought in Iraq and he says that what he saw there has made his mood agnostic at best.  He is willing to let us pray for him.  The “word of knowledge” that is released shakes him, almost physically. Tears indicate a mood change. He says he is now willing to seriously consider the claims of Christ.  Power encounters can be a great help to the gospel message.

THE FOUR TEENAGE BOYS with skateboards hear  the satanist lady screaming in the Prayer Tent. When she leaves the boys come into the Prayer Tent inquiring as to what the commotion was all about and all four end up being led to receive Christ by Pastor Jeff’s son. Two years earlier the satanist lady’s grown son had killed a police officer near Pastor Jeff’s church and shot at Pastor Jeff. Amazing how God brought eternal salvation for 4 teenage skaters out of such loss & chaos.

STATUS: HE IS NOT YET SAVED but when asked he willingly lays a hand on his wife’s neck and seriously commands the pain to leave in Jesus’ name. The pain leaves. Status: He is now saved. 35 prayed to receive Christ in Rainier/Longview today, 36 in Bend. 71 times today we rejoiced greatly with every angel in Heaven. Representatives from 15 churches participate.

MY FEET ARE TIRED AND THEY HURT FROM 5 hours of walking with my team heralding the good news to over 60 people at a craft fair. I look up to God and say candidly, “My feet hurt.”  Almost instantly the reply comes back, “So did mine, because of the nails in my feet.”  Suddenly suffering a little in my feet becomes an honor rather than a complaint. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who was able to participate through power evangelism or prayer to “win for the Lamb the reward of His sacrifice in Bend & Rainier/Longview!

Sixteen testimonies of healing, several baptisms in the Holy Spirit, 100 people prayed to receive Christ. First double city soul winning Marathon. Thank you, God for the great harvest in Portland & Eugene! May they all be good soil reproducing 30, 60, 100 times what was sown!

Representatives from fourteen Churches came to Portland or Eugene to participate in the Power Evangelism and Power Intercession Holy Spirit adventure! We prayed together through a video link before the event and shared some of the most amazing testimonies from each city afterward. Partnering with God in His harvest of souls is just awesome!

POWER EVANGELISM IN SALEM / KEIZER: He is standing outside his house with his walker. He is a WWII vet and spent time in a Japanese prisoner of war camp. A friend was shot to death 2 feet from him. He had a dream one night in prison where he heard a voice say that an angel would protect him. He came out without a scratch and he has often thanked God for that. He is 93 years old and today he humbly prayed to ask Jesus Christ to be his Savior and Lord. He seemed very glad to be born again.

NINETY-EIGHT PEOPLE prayed to receive Christ at our 5^th Northwest Great Awakening Marathon as the gospel was heralded with signs and wonders following throughout our state capitol and surrounding towns. The total soul count is now over 1,200 for our multi-church soul winning efforts throughout the Pacific Northwest in the last year.  Oh happy day!  In each marathon, between 12 and 25 churches have been represented through power evangelism and intercession.  What a team!

What I marvel at most about soul winning is the guarantee by Jesus Christ that some seed will fall on good soil and supernaturally reproduce itself 30, 60, even 100-fold more seed than what was sown. At the second Northwest Great Awakening Marathon, hosted by Destiny Christian Fellowship in Clackamas, Oregon on October 22nd, I love it that 107 evangelists and 48 intercessors representing 23 churches gathered together for a short training, then honored the blood soaked suffering marathon of Jesus by engaging in a 4 hour prayer and soul winning marathon to “win for the Lamb the reward of His sacrifice.” I love it that as a result, 22 people testified to healings, 24 were were baptized with a tangible, overflowing experience of the Holy Spirit, and 530 people prayed to receive Christ. Yet and yet, what I marvel at most is not what happened at the soul winning marathon, but what Jesus Christ prophesied and guarantees will happen in the days after the marathon with the seed that fell on good soil. Souls beget souls beget souls and in the words of Pastor Denny Cline, “the whole thing goes exponential.” This is what I marvel at most about soul winning and soul winning marathons.
